Save the date! 2nd OpenNMT Workshop on April 27, 2020 in Paris, France

IMPORTANT UPDATE (2020/03/02):

The OpenNMT maintainers (SYSTRAN and Ubiqus) plan to organize the second OpenNMT workshop on April 27, 2020 in Paris, France.

The first event organized in 2018 was a great success and gathered more than 150 people from around the globe. The second edition should follow a similar style and will be a good occasion for you to learn more about the evolution of OpenNMT, how it is used in research and industry, and discuss about recent advances in NMT and its future.

The exact venue and agenda are still in the works and will be announced at a later date. In the meantime, please answer the questions below so we can better organize the event:

If you are interested in doing a presentation or a demo during this workshop, please let us know!

The current development of systran and openNMT aims at client-specific, individual models which results in endless energy consuming model training. Therefore, we are using fairseq with its pretained xlm-r for our multilingual, multi-domain models in our current project. Nevertheless, we are interested in your workshop videos and fascinating tutorials.

Will it be possible to attend remotely with a video streaming ?

This has yet to be determined. I know there were some recordings in 2018 but I don’t exactly remember if they were live as well.

Because of the global concern regarding the coronavirus outbreak and local recommendations to restrict public gathering and travel, we are sorry to inform you that we decided to postpone the workshop to a later date.

We will come back with a new date once we have more visibility on how things are evolving.

Thank you for your understanding.
